Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, IAS, conducted a joint field inspection to review the newly introduced one way traffic system around KBR Park.
The inspection comes around 15 days after the new traffic arrangement was implemented on August 18. The senior officials reviewed traffic conditions, identified bottlenecks and considered feedback from motorists and commuters.
Key Junctions Inspected
The team inspected several important locations, including:
- Film Nagar Junction
- Journalist Colony
- Road No. 45
- Jubilee Hills Checkpost
- KBR Park Main Gate
Officials identified stretches where traffic movement slows down and discussed measures to improve the continuous flow of vehicles.
Road Widening and Infrastructure Works
- During the inspection, officials directed concerned departments to speed up road widening works at selected stretches. Immediate road repairs at high traffic locations and drainage related issues were also prioritised.
- Special attention was given to the stretch between Film Nagar Junction and Road No. 45 Junction. Officials directed departments to shift electric poles, water supply lines, drainage networks and other utility infrastructure that are currently obstructing road expansion.
- The works have been directed to be taken up on a priority basis to improve traffic movement.
Traffic Changes Linked to H-City Project
- The one way traffic system around KBR Park has been introduced to facilitate construction of flyovers under the H-City project, which aims to improve Hyderabad’s urban infrastructure and traffic network.
- Commissioner Sajjanar and Commissioner Karnan thanked citizens and commuters for cooperating with the new traffic arrangements and urged continued public support while the infrastructure works are carried out.
- The inspection was attended by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, IPS; DCP (Traffic) Kajal Singh, IPS; CMD TGSPDCL Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, along with senior engineers and officials from various government departments.
