Charminar Zone Police have identified 57 youths for allegedly violating law and order guidelines during the recent Milad un Nabi procession in the Charminar area.
According to police, the violations were recorded through drone footage and CCTV cameras. The identified incidents reportedly included dangerous bike stunts, use of modified high decibel silencers, unauthorized DJ setups and misbehavior with police personnel deployed for security and traffic management.
Police said the procession had been conducted with clear guidelines issued by religious leaders, the Central Milad Committee and the police authorities. Despite these instructions, some participants allegedly engaged in activities that posed risks to public safety and disrupted law and order.
DCP Kiran Khare, IPS, along with the Charminar Zone Additional DCP, ACPs and SHOs, conducted a counseling session with the identified youths on Monday.
During the session, the police stressed that people have the right to celebrate religious festivals, but such celebrations must remain peaceful and within the law.
“Police stand with every citizen celebrating every festival Hindu or Muslim peacefully and within the law. Every person must therefore act responsibly. But no one gets a pass to break the law in the name of religious freedom” the DCP said.
The police also appealed to parents to closely monitor their children’s company, social media activity and habits. Parents were urged to remain alert to any signs of involvement with drugs or ganja and to guide young people away from activities that could put their future at risk.
The Charminar Zone Police reiterated that celebrations of all festivals will receive security and support from the police, while violations of law and order rules will not be tolerated.
