73.39 lakh voters excluded from the draft electoral roll
The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer has released the list of voters whose names were excluded from the draft electoral roll as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
According to the released data, 73,39,235 voters have been excluded across Telangana. Hyderabad recorded the highest number of exclusions, with 19,41,444 voters removed from the draft roll.
Telangana voter roll falls by 21.70%
Telangana had 3,38,26,448 voters as of June 10, 2026. The number fell to 2,64,87,213 in the draft electoral roll a reduction of 21.70%.
The major reasons listed for the exclusions are:
- Permanently shifted: 45,18,963
- Absent/untraceable: 11,25,546
- Deceased: 9,22,229
- Already enrolled elsewhere: 6,70,203
- Other reasons: 1,02,294
Hyderabad records the highest exclusions
Hyderabad district recorded the highest number of exclusions at 19,41,444, followed by:
- Ranga Reddy: 12,87,091
- Medchal-Malkajgiri: 10,71,566
- Sangareddy:2,98,278
- Nizamabad: 2,11,670
- Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri recorded the lowest number at 26,121.
Jubilee Hills tops Hyderabad constituencies
Within Hyderabad, Jubilee Hills recorded the highest number of excluded voters at 1,79,510, followed by:

- ➤ Chandrayangutta: 1,48,869
- ➤ Malakpet: 1,47,799
- ➤ Karwan: 1,41,766
- ➤ Musheerabad: 1,40,070
In percentage terms, Musheerabad recorded the highest reduction at 45.17%, followed by Malakpet at 44.76%.
What should voters do?
The exclusions are from the draft electoral roll and are not necessarily permanent. Voters who believe their names have been wrongly left out can participate in the claims and objections process and apply for inclusion using Form 6.
Important point
The figure of 73.39 lakh should not automatically be interpreted as 73 lakh genuine voters being permanently disenfranchised. The exclusions include deceased voters, people who have permanently shifted, absent or untraceable voters, and people already registered elsewhere.
Eligible voters whose names were wrongly excluded have an opportunity to seek inclusion during the claims and objections process.
