Falaknuma Police have intensified surveillance and strict action against anti-social elements who disturb public peace, create nuisance in public places and engage in suspicious activities, Falaknuma Division Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) M.A. Javed said.
As part of these preventive measures, seven accused persons arrested in different cases were produced before the court. The 9th Special Judicial Magistrate, Hyderabad, found them guilty in separate cases and sentenced them to imprisonment ranging from three to eight days, the ACP said.
Among those sentenced was Hussain Khan, 20, a rowdy-sheeter from the Balapur Police Station limits. Falaknuma Police detained him after he was found allegedly moving suspiciously on the streets while carrying a knife.
A case was registered against him under Section 61-A of the Hyderabad City Police Act. After he was produced before the court, the court sentenced him to eight days of simple imprisonment.
The remaining six accused were sentenced to three days’ imprisonment each in separate cases involving suspicious movements, creating nuisance in public places and allegedly attacking members of the public, the ACP said.

ACP M.A. Javed warned that strict legal action would be taken against rowdy-sheeters, habitual offenders and anti-social elements who disturb public peace, create disturbances in public places, threaten people, engage in attacks or move around carrying weapons.
He made it clear that there would be no leniency towards those who violate the law. Preventive surveillance, inspections and legal action will continue on a regular basis, he said.
The ACP also appealed to residents to immediately inform Falaknuma Police if they notice any suspicious persons, illegal activities or individuals carrying weapons in their neighbourhoods.
The police assured that the identity of people providing such information would be kept completely confidential.
