Hyderabad: Immigration authorities at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport detained 20 women passengers after they were allegedly found carrying forged visas while attempting to board an Oman Air flight to Muscat, Oman.
According to officials, the passengers arrived at the airport to board the international flight. During routine immigration checks, officers examined their travel documents and discovered that all 20 visas were fake. The women were immediately detained and later handed over to the Airport Outpost Police for further investigation.
Police have registered a case and are questioning the passengers to determine who arranged the forged visas, whether they were deceived by travel agents, and if the incident is linked to a larger visa fraud or human trafficking network. Authorities are also investigating the source of the fake documents and the involvement of any intermediaries.
The incident highlights growing concerns over fraudulent overseas employment and travel schemes, with immigration authorities increasing scrutiny of international travel documents at Hyderabad airport. In recent months, officials have intercepted several passengers attempting to travel abroad using forged visas and other fake travel documents.
