BRS Calls Bandh Photo Row in KCR

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has called for a bandh in parts of Telangana after a controversy erupted over the display of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s photograph in the Gajwel camp office of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

The issue began when officials reportedly placed the current Chief Minister’s photo in the office located in Gajwel, which has long been associated with KCR. BRS leaders strongly objected to the move, calling it “disrespectful” and politically motivated.

Party members staged protests in several areas, demanding the immediate removal of the photograph. They argued that the office is closely linked to KCR’s legacy and should not be used for what they described as “Political symbolism” by the ruling government.

In response, BRS announced a bandh, urging supporters to shut down businesses and join demonstrations. Protests were reported in parts of the state, with party workers raising slogans against the government.

Meanwhile, the ruling Congress leaders defended the move, saying that displaying the Chief Minister’s photo in government offices is a standard administrative practice and not intended to provoke any political controversy.

The situation has led to increased political tensions between the BRS and the Congress government in Telangana. Security has been tightened in sensitive areas to prevent any escalation, while authorities have appealed for calm.

The controversy highlights the ongoing rivalry between the two parties as political differences continue to intensify in the state.
