Hyderabad City Police’s Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone Team, in coordination with Afzalgunj Police, arrested two individuals for possession and trafficking of dry ganja, a prohibited narcotic substance, with an estimated market value of ₹2,75,000.
The accused have been identified as Guru Pujari (26), a laborer from Malkangiri district, Odisha, and Sanu Madhi (24), currently residing in Kaithalapur, Borabanda, Hyderabad. During the operation, police seized 5.5 kilograms of dry ganja along with two mobile phones.
How the Operation Unfolded
Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo conspired to illegally procure and sell ganja for monetary gain. Sanu Madhi, residing in Hyderabad, identified local demand for the contraband and persuaded Guru Pujari to source the narcotic from Odisha. Guru Pujari reportedly procured the 5.5 kilograms from a local cultivator and transported it to Hyderabad for distribution.
The operation was supervised by the Inspector of Police, Jubilee Hills Zone Task Force, along with supporting officers, ensuring coordinated action across jurisdictions.
Legal Proceedings and Further Investigation
The accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the law. Authorities stated that further investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend others involved in the supply chain, aiming to dismantle the wider network facilitating the trafficking of illegal narcotics in the city.
