Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed Congress leaders and party workers to actively participate in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, warning that any negligence in the process could adversely affect the party’s electoral prospects.

Addressing a meeting of Congress leaders, the Chief Minister stressed that the preparation of an accurate voters’ list is crucial ahead of the upcoming elections. He urged party representatives to closely monitor the revision process, assist eligible voters in completing the required formalities, and ensure that no genuine voter is left out of the electoral rolls.

Revanth Reddy emphasized that the SIR exercise is an important democratic process and instructed party leaders to coordinate with local committees and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to verify voter details at the grassroots level. He said every constituency should regularly review the progress of the revision exercise and resolve issues faced by voters without delay.

The Chief Minister cautioned that complacency or negligence during the voter verification process could have serious political consequences. He urged Congress leaders to treat the exercise as a priority and remain in constant touch with voters throughout the revision period.

He also encouraged party workers to create awareness about the SIR process, help eligible citizens submit the necessary documents on time, and ensure that newly eligible voters are enrolled in the electoral rolls.

The Congress leadership believes that an accurate and inclusive electoral roll is essential for free and fair elections. Party leaders have been asked to work closely with election officials within the framework of the Election Commission’s guidelines while extending assistance to voters.

The Chief Minister’s remarks come as political parties across Telangana have intensified efforts to monitor the voter list revision process, with the SIR exercise expected to play a significant role in the state’s electoral preparations.

Note: SIR (Special Intensive Revision) is an Election Commission exercise aimed at updating electoral rolls by adding eligible voters, correcting records, and removing ineligible entries in accordance with electoral rules.
