BJP Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman has criticised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks comparing the patriotism of AIMIM leaders Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Revanth Reddy made the remarks during the inauguration of the Chanchalguda Santosh Nagar Steel Flyover in Hyderabad, where AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi was also present.

What Did Revanth Reddy Say?

  • During the event, Revanth Reddy said that Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi were patriotic and suggested that their patriotism should not be considered less than that of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

K. Laxman’s Response

  • Reacting to the statement, K. Laxman described the comparison as “Laughable” and questioned why the Chief Minister compared Owaisi with the Prime Minister.
  • Laxman also asked why Revanth Reddy did not make a similar comparison with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He accused the Chief Minister of engaging in vote bank politics.
  • The BJP leader also criticised the Congress government over its performance and alleged that several promises made to the people had not been fulfilled.
