Ahead of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and idol immersion processions, a Zonal Level Convergence Meeting was held at the Non Teaching Functional Hall, Osmania University, to review preparations and ensure peaceful and incident free festivities.
The meeting was chaired by Smt. Rakshitha K. Murthy, IPS, DCP, Secunderabad Zone, and attended by representatives from various departments, including Hyderabad Police, GHMC, TGSPDCL, HMWSSB, Roads & Buildings (R&B), Fire Services and 108 Emergency Medical Services.
Officials discussed arrangements related to civic amenities, uninterrupted power supply, barricading, road repairs, sanitation, fire safety, emergency medical services, traffic management and security along major Ganesh procession and immersion routes.
The DCP directed all concerned departments to take preventive measures well in advance to avoid inconvenience and ensure public safety during the festivities.
The GHMC Horticulture Wing was instructed to prune overhanging tree branches along procession routes. The TGSPDCL was directed to identify, clear and properly secure low hanging electrical wires to prevent electrical hazards during the processions.
Other departments were also asked to ensure timely completion of road, sanitation, lighting, traffic and emergency response arrangements.
All participating departments assured that they would work in close coordination with the Police and complete the required arrangements on time.
The Police appealed to Ganesh festival organizers and the general public to cooperate with the authorities, follow safety guidelines and help ensure peaceful, safe and successful Ganesh celebrations and immersion processions across the Secunderabad Zone.
