The Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone Team, along with S.R. Nagar Police, arrested two alleged hash oil peddlers and seized 1.710 litres of hash oil valued at approximately ₹21.37 lakh.

The arrested persons were identified as Poddu Mohan Rao, 41, from Araku in Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh, and T. Bistudas, 27, from Dumbriguda in the same district. Police also seized two mobile phones from them.

According to police, the accused allegedly purchased the hash oil in Odisha on August 30 and travelled by train from Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad on August 31. They later reached Water Tank Lane in S.R. Nagar, Hyderabad, where they were allegedly waiting to deliver the contraband to a prospective customer when police apprehended them.

Police said the accused were allegedly planning to sell the hash oil in Hyderabad at a higher price and make illegal profits.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Ch. Yadender and D. Ravi Raj, SIP, Jubilee Hills Zone Task Force, along with their teams and S.R. Nagar Police.

Police Appeal to Youth and Public

  • The Commissioner’s Task Force urged young people to stay away from drugs and warned that drug abuse can damage careers, families and futures. Police also appealed to citizens to report suspected drug peddling or other suspicious activities to the authorities.
  • Citizens can contact the police by dialling 100 to report drug related activities.
  • Police said continued public cooperation is important in efforts to make Hyderabad safer and free from drug related activities.
