U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Iran, saying “The clock is ticking” and urging Tehran to “Get moving, FAST or there won’t be anything left of them” as tensions continue escalating across the Middle East.
The warning was posted on Trump’s Truth Social account on Sunday and comes amid growing fears of renewed military conflict involving the United States, Iran and Israel.
According to reports, the statement followed stalled negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions, and regional security issues. Iranian media earlier revealed that Washington had reportedly presented strict conditions for restarting talks.
The situation has become more tense after recent instability around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Iran’s proposed control measures and shipping restrictions have raised concerns globally because a large percentage of international oil supplies pass through the region.
Reports also suggest Trump held discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Iran and possible future security actions. U.S. officials are reportedly preparing additional military and diplomatic options if negotiations fail.
The warning came shortly after a drone strike near the UAE’s Barakah nuclear power plant increased fears of a wider regional conflict. While no radiation leak was reported, UAE officials described the incident as a “Dangerous escalation.”
Global markets are closely monitoring the situation because any major conflict involving Iran could affect oil prices, shipping routes, and international trade. Analysts say the latest statement signals increasing pressure from Washington as diplomatic efforts continue under fragile ceasefire conditions.
