Coordination Meeting Held to Ensure Peaceful Bakrid Celebrations in Jubilee Hills Zone

Security and Civic Arrangements for Bakrid

A high level inter departmental coordination meeting was held at the Madhura Nagar Community Hall to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Bakrid festival in the Jubilee Hills Zone.

The meeting was chaired by DCP A. Ramana Reddy and attended by senior officials from the Police, GHMC, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, and Transport departments. Representatives including Addl. DCP K. Srikanth, GHMC Deputy Commissioner A. Suresh, ACPs from SR Nagar and Banjara Hills, veterinary officials, and other departmental heads participated, along with around 200 stakeholders such as cattle transporters, members of the Qureshi community, and beef shop owners.

Key Directions Issued

Officials emphasized the need for strong inter departmental coordination to ensure proper management during the festival period. It was directed that checkposts function in three shifts to closely monitor the movement of animals and ensure regulatory compliance.

Authorities also reiterated strict enforcement against the illegal transport, sale, or slaughter of cows and calves. All cattle transporters were instructed to carry valid veterinary certificates and official transport documentation.

Civic and Traffic Management

GHMC officials were instructed to maintain proper sanitation and waste disposal arrangements during the festival. Police officials briefed participants on traffic regulation measures to prevent congestion in key areas.

Appeal for Peace

Participants were urged to maintain communal harmony and cooperate with the administration. Officials stressed adherence to animal welfare norms and legal guidelines to ensure that celebrations are conducted peacefully and responsibly.

The meeting concluded with a collective assurance from all departments and community representatives to ensure orderly and law abiding Bakrid celebrations in the region.
