IMD Warns of More Heatwave Days in Telangana

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Telangana is likely to face more heatwave days in the coming months, even though some rainfall is expected in between.

According to officials, temperatures across the state are set to remain above normal during the summer season. While occasional thunderstorms and light rain may bring short term relief, they are not expected to significantly reduce the overall heat levels.

Several districts could see temperatures crossing 40°C, especially during peak afternoon hours. The rising heat is likely to impact daily life, with people advised to avoid direct sunlight, stay hydrated and take necessary precautions.

Weather experts say the combination of high temperatures and humidity may increase discomfort levels, particularly in urban areas like Hyderabad. Rural regions may also face challenges, especially for farmers and outdoor workers.

Authorities have urged the public to follow safety guidelines, including limiting outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day and taking extra care of children and the elderly.

The warning highlights the growing intensity of summer conditions in Telangana, with officials continuing to monitor the situation and issue updates as needed.
