Telangana Health Department Launches 100 Day Drive

The Telangana Health Department on Monday launched a major 100 day public health campaign titled “Health Mission 100” aimed at improving healthcare access and outcomes for vulnerable sections of society across the state.

The drive will focus on strengthening services related to Maternal health, Child healthcare, Elderly care and Rural medical outreach. Health officials said the programme is designed to close gaps in primary healthcare delivery, especially in remote and underserved areas of Telangana.

Under the initiative, government hospitals and primary health centres will conduct special health camps, increase door to door screenings, and ensure regular monitoring of high risk pregnancies and malnourished children. Senior citizens will receive priority check ups, while mobile medical units will be deployed in villages with limited access to healthcare facilities.

Officials said the campaign will also emphasize immunisation coverage, nutrition awareness and early detection of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension. Training programmes for health workers have been planned to improve service quality and patient follow up.

The state government said the mission aims to achieve measurable improvements within 100 days, including reduced maternal and infant mortality rates and better healthcare coverage in rural areas. Progress will be reviewed weekly by senior officials to ensure targets are met on schedule.

Health experts welcomed the initiative, noting that focused, time bound campaigns can significantly improve health indicators when combined with strong monitoring and community participation.

Authorities urged citizens to cooperate with health workers and make use of the free medical services offered under the programme, calling it a crucial step toward strengthening the state’s public healthcare system.
