Global energy management and automation major Schneider Electric has announced plans to invest ₹623 crore to expand its manufacturing operations in Telangana. The announcement was made during a meeting between a Telangana government delegation led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Schneider Electric India CEO Deepak Sharma on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland.
As part of the expansion, the company will scale up its existing manufacturing facilities at Gagillapur and Shamshabad near Hyderabad. The investment aims to enhance production capacity for key electrical safety and control products such as Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Moulded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), contactors, and push buttons, which are widely used in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in areas including energy transition, energy storage solutions, grid modernisation, energy efficiency, and digital power management systems. These initiatives are seen as critical for strengthening power infrastructure and supporting sustainable urban and industrial growth.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the proposed investment aligns with Telangana’s long-term development vision, particularly its goal of achieving net-zero growth by 2047. He highlighted the state’s growing reputation as a hub for electronics manufacturing, smart infrastructure, and advanced industrial technologies.
Schneider Electric also highlighted its strong presence in Telangana, noting that the company already operates 38 skill development centres in the state. These centres focus on training youth and professionals in energy management, industrial automation, and digital technologies, contributing to local employment and skill development.
The proposed expansion is expected to boost industrial output, generate employment and further strengthen Telangana’s position as a preferred destination for global manufacturing and technology investments.
