The Cyberabad Traffic Police and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) convened a high level co-ordination meeting to review and strengthen traffic management, road infrastructure and commuter safety across the Cyberabad zone. The meeting focused on unified planning to ease congestion, reduce accident prone spots and improve pedestrian mobility.
Major Infrastructure & Safety Priorities Discussed
The joint committee emphasized the need for rapid development and structural upgrades in high density traffic corridors. Key initiatives include:
- Construction of new flyovers, underpasses and foot overbridges (FOBs) to reduce traffic burdens on busy junctions.
- Development of wider footpaths, modern skywalks and pedestrian friendly walkways to ensure safe movement for pedestrians.
- Strategic planning to remove ORR bottlenecks and improve accident prone “black spots” particularly zones reporting frequent collisions.
- Measures to resolve waterlogging issues, including improved drainage at low lying and frequently flooded road points.
- Installation of high tech traffic signals, CCTV surveillance and street lighting to support enforcement and visibility.
Focus on Smart Traffic Solutions
Officials discussed smart mobility measures, including AI-assisted signal systems, real time monitoring and coordination with municipal bodies to clear encroachments affecting road safety.
Unified Approach to Urban Mobility
The Cyberabad Police and HMDA affirmed that continuous collaboration between civic bodies, traffic authorities and infrastructure agencies will be critical to managing the rapid urban expansion and vehicle growth in the region.
“Our joint efforts aim to create safer, faster, and more organized mobility for millions of daily commuters,” officials stated.
