Hyderabad Police Deport Yemeni National Staying Illegally After Security Concerns

Hyderabad Police Deport Yemeni National

The Commissioner’s Task Force, South East Zone, Hyderabad, apprehended a Yemeni national identified as Ahmed Salem Abdullah, also known as Ahmed Salem Fadaq (38), for overstaying his visa and allegedly associating with drug peddlers. Authorities have initiated and completed his deportation, citing concerns over national security.

According to police, Ahmed Salem first entered India in 2017 on a student visa via Saudi Arabia and enrolled in the B.B.A. program at Nizam College, Hyderabad. After completing the course in 2020, he shifted to Ajmer, Rajasthan, where he joined Bhagwanth University to pursue a Master’s degree.

His visa expired on August 31, 2024, but he continued to remain in India illegally, moving between Ajmer and Hyderabad. Officials said that during this period he began associating with drug peddlers operating in both cities.

Based on credible intelligence, the Task Force located and apprehended him while he was moving suspiciously in the Tolichowki area of Hyderabad. Although no narcotics were found in his possession, he failed to produce valid visa documents during questioning.

Following verification of his credentials with the FRRO, Hyderabad, the FRRO office at Mamidipally issued an Exit Certificate to facilitate immediate deportation. Authorities stated that his illegal stay and suspected associations posed a potential threat to national security.

Ahmed Salem was subsequently deported to Yemen.

Police officials reiterated that strict action will continue against foreign nationals overstaying visas or engaging in illegal activities within the city.
