Hyderabad Police to Auction 989 Unclaimed Vehicles Under Metropolitan Police Act

The Hyderabad City Police on Monday announced plans to auction 989 unclaimed and abandoned vehicles currently lying in various police stations across the city. The move aims to clear space and dispose of vehicles that have remained unclaimed for extended periods.

According to an official press release, the auction will be conducted in accordance with Section 7 of the Hyderabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act, 2004. This provision empowers the police to dispose of property, including vehicles, that remain unclaimed beyond the prescribed period.

The police have invited individuals who believe they are the rightful owners of any of these vehicles to come forward and claim ownership within six months from November 10, 2025. Claims can be made at the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) by providing necessary proof of ownership and identification documents.

For those interested in participating in the auction, detailed information about each vehicle will be available with the auction team at the SAR CPL police ground, located near the Police Hospital at Amberpet. In addition, the complete list of vehicles and related details will also be published on the official Hyderabad Police website, enabling easy access for the public.

Police officials stated that the auction will help decongest police station premises and ensure proper disposal of long-abandoned vehicles, in line with due legal procedures.

Citizens and potential buyers have been urged to verify vehicle details before the auction process begins.
