As local body elections draw near, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is stepping into high gear amid mounting internal tensions. The party’s working president, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), is embarking on a statewide tour that starts on September 10 to 11 with visits to Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam, followed by a major public rally in Gadwal town on September 13, where he will address issues such as farmer distress and expanded BC reservations.
This renewed push comes during a turbulent phase within BRS, with growing discontent following the suspension of Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha and allegations of corruption tied to senior leader Harish Rao over the Kaleshwaram project. Party insiders say the outreach is aimed at mending internal rifts and strengthening organisational unity ahead of the elections.
The local body polls are a crucial test for BRS to prove its grassroots presence, especially after electoral setbacks and defections. KTR’s tour and rally are being seen as strategic moves to reset the narrative and energize party workers before the vote.
