Woman Arrested with Dry Ganja Worth ₹5.70 Lakh in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, in coordination with SR Nagar Police, apprehended a woman for possession of dry ganja worth ₹5.70 lakh.

The accused has been identified as Rinita Raita (30), wife of Ananta Raita and a resident of Kesariguda village, Antaraba Post, Gajapati district in Odisha. Police said she was working as a sub-peddler in the drug supply chain.

During the operation, police seized 11.4 kilograms of dry ganja and one mobile phone from her possession. The total value of the seized contraband was estimated at ₹5,70,000.

According to police, the accused was facing financial difficulties and was allegedly induced by her cousin, Maniel Dalabehera, to travel to Hyderabad to sell dry ganja. Acting on credible information, the Task Force team intercepted her and took her into custody.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other persons involved in the drug network.

Police have appealed to the public, especially the youth, to stay away from narcotic substances, warning that drugs destroy lives and harm society. Citizens were urged to report any drug-related activities to the police by dialing emergency number 100.
