Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of having a secret political understanding, suggesting that their public criticisms of each other may be part of a larger strategy rather than sincere opposition.
Speaking to the media, Bandi Sanjay claimed that Revanth Reddy’s public denunciations of KCR could be aimed at gaining public sympathy or political advantage rather than addressing real governance issues. He criticized both leaders and their parties for what he described as a lack of transparency and effective governance. He also targeted KCR’s son K.T. Rama Rao, accusing them of arrogance and corruption.
The Union Minister asserted that the Congress led state government, under Revanth Reddy, was failing on key fronts and alleged that certain ministers were exploiting legal loopholes to siphon off large sums of public money. He warned that the BJP would campaign to expose alleged corruption in the state at an appropriate time.
On issues of governance, Bandi Sanjay accused both the current and previous regimes of failing to deliver on crucial promises and dragging Telangana into political “Gutter politics” rather than focusing on development and accountability. He described the state’s political environment as being dominated by verbal attacks and confrontations rather than meaningful debate on issues such as jobs, infrastructure and support for farmers.
In his remarks, he also referenced long‑standing controversies such as the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, which he and other BJP leaders have previously accused of being misused as a source of corruption, and alleged a kind of behind the scenes cooperation between the Congress and BRS to protect their interests.
These comments come amid escalating political rhetoric in Telangana, with leaders from different parties openly trading sharp criticisms ahead of future elections, reflecting deep political competition and shifting alliances.
