Two Arrested for Manufacturing Adulterated Ginger Paste in Hyderabad

Police in Mailardevpally arrested two individuals for allegedly manufacturing and selling adulterated ginger paste in unhygienic conditions. The illegal operation was discovered at a facility located in Subhan Colony during a police inspection.

According to officials from the Telangana Police, the accused have been identified as Mohammed Ziyauddin (45), owner of the brand “Seven Cooks,” and Mohammed Mazhar Ali (47), owner of Arjun Enterprises. Authorities said the duo was producing ginger paste using spoiled ginger and chemical additives in an unsanitary environment before distributing it to local shops across Hyderabad.

During the raid, police seized 675 kilograms of adulterated ginger paste, stored in 16 drums, along with ginger waste cans, cartons, packaging labels of the “Seven Cooks” brand and chemicals including Xanthan gum powder used in the preparation process.

Officials estimated the total value of the seized materials at around ₹90,000. Police said the adulterated product posed potential health risks to consumers due to the poor hygiene conditions and use of substandard ingredients.

Both accused have been taken into custody and further legal action is currently underway as authorities continue the investigation.
