Police in Mailardevpally have arrested three young men in connection with an attempt to murder case reported on April 2, 2026.
The accused have been identified as Syed Shaibaz (19), Sahanavaz Khan, also known as Syed Sahanavaz Khan (20) and Rizwan Bin Suleman Baharmuz (18). The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to police, the incident took place around 12:30 am near Adiba Hotel in Sasthripuram. The accused allegedly attacked a man named Mohd. Fahad, also known as Fahad Baba, using a knife and an axe. He suffered injuries to his Head, Ear and Shoulder.
The injured victim was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
During the investigation, police found that the attack was linked to an old dispute. Officials said the victim had earlier attacked the main accused in a previous case. Holding a grudge, the three accused reportedly planned and carried out the assault.
Police also recovered weapons from the accused, including an axe, a knife and a sickle.
The accused have been produced before the court, and further investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendra Nagar Zone.
