Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made history today by becoming the first state CM in 20 years to step onto the Osmania University campus. In a warm and direct address to students, faculty, and alumni, he shared a clear goal: to bring Osmania University up to the standards of world-class institutions like Oxford and Stanford.
He officially opened two new hostel buildings Dundubhi and Bhima and kicked off plans for a modern digital library and reading spaces. On top of that, he pledged a massive ₹1,000 crore for the university’s transformation. His words were powerful: “Tell us what you need. We will prepare the plans and provide the funds,” he said, underlining the emotional connection between the university and Telangana.
To make this happen, he announced setting up an expert committee charged with drawing up the development blueprint. He stressed the need for deep involvement from students and staff, asking them to take part in designing OU’s future.
One of the most striking promises was to return to campus in December without police protection. He made it clear that he wanted an open, honest dialogue with students, even if protests take place. “Let protests happen. I am ready to answer,” he said.
He also highlighted OU’s legacy, calling it part of Telangana’s soul home to leaders like PV Narasimha Rao and voices of student martyrs. He reminded everyone that education, not freebies or favors, is the surest path to lasting change.
