The Telangana government has officially announced the schedule for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) for the 2025 – 26 academic year. The exams will be held from February 25 to March 18, 2026, for both First and Second Year students. Practical exams will begin in the first week of February.

  • The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) Secretary, S. Krishna Aditya, confirmed that the exam timeline has received government approval, and the detailed timetable will be released soon.
  • Fee payment for the exams will begin from November 1, 2025.
  • All theory exams will be conducted in a single morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
  • Practical examinations will be held before the commencement of the main exams.
  • For the first time, First Year students will also have external practical examinations, previously limited to Second Year students.

The Board has announced major reforms in the Intermediate education system beginning with the 2026 – 27 academic year:

  • Introduction of activity based internal assessments worth 20 marks in all subjects, while external exams will cover 80 marks.
  • Revision of textbooks aligned with NCERT guidelines, featuring QR codes for digital content and improved paper quality to prevent damage.
  • Enhanced focus on digital and skill based learning, moving away from rote based evaluation.
