The Telangana government has given approval for the construction of the B-91 sewerage line, stretching from Ranga Mahal in Hyderabad to Dar-ul-Salaam (Aghapura) via Bagga Wines and MJ Market. The project involves laying a 1200/1400 mm diameter RCC pipeline at a total cost of ₹57.60 crore.
Officials said that work on the project is expected to begin soon. Once completed, it is expected to provide substantial relief to residents of Khairatabad, Goshamahal, and Nampally by improving the city’s sewerage infrastructure.
Infrastructure Improvement and Flood Relief
The new sewerage line will enhance Hyderabad’s basic urban infrastructure, ensuring better sewage management across these busy localities. Authorities highlighted that the project will also significantly reduce waterlogging during the rainy season, a chronic problem that often disrupts daily life in these areas.
City planners emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing essential services and reducing public inconvenience caused by flooding and sewage overflow.
Public Benefits
Once operational, the B-91 sewerage line will:
- Facilitate efficient sewage flow in Khairatabad, Goshamahal, and Nampally
- Prevent waterlogging in low lying areas during heavy rains
- Contribute to cleaner streets and safer neighborhoods
Officials have urged residents to cooperate during the construction phase, as the project may temporarily affect traffic and local access in some areas.
The project is part of Telangana’s broader urban development plan aimed at upgrading civic infrastructure and improving quality of life for city residents.
