Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud has expressed confidence that the Congress party will register a decisive victory in the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana.
Speaking at a press interaction in Nizamabad, Goud said the party’s recent performance in local body elections, including sarpanch and ward member polls, reflected growing public support for the Congress government.
He attributed this confidence to the welfare and development initiatives implemented by the state government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating that these programmes have delivered tangible benefits to people across urban and rural areas.
Welfare Measures Highlighted
Goud cited several initiatives as key factors behind public support, including:
- Free bus travel for women
- Subsidised LPG cylinders
- Free electricity benefits for eligible households
- Distribution of fine rice to ration card holders
- Housing support for economically weaker sections
He said these measures had strengthened trust in the government and would translate into electoral success at the municipal level.
Political Remarks
The TPCC chief criticised opposition parties, alleging that they were focusing on divisive issues instead of governance and development. He urged voters to assess parties based on performance and welfare delivery.
Elections Ahead
Municipal elections in Telangana are expected to be held in the coming weeks. Political activity has intensified across the state as parties prepare their strategies for the civic polls.
