Police conducted a counselling session for rowdy sheeters under the jurisdiction of Mailardevpally Police Station under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Rajendranagar Zone, on Wednesday.
During the session, the DCP instructed the rowdy sheeters to stay away from illegal activities and maintain peaceful behaviour in public. They were advised not to roam unnecessarily during night hours and to avoid engaging in any form of threatening or extortion activities.
The DCP warned that strict legal action would be initiated against anyone found indulging in activities that disturb peace and public order in the area. He said cases could be booked under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act if violations were reported.
Police officials also urged the rowdy sheeters to reform their conduct, adopt a positive lifestyle and live as responsible citizens. They were encouraged to change their behaviour and contribute to maintaining law and order in society.
After the counselling session, the rowdy sheeters assured the police that they would not involve themselves in any unlawful or untoward incidents in the future.
The police said such counselling programmes are part of efforts to prevent crime and ensure public safety in the jurisdiction.
