RJD Unhappy With Bihar Election Outcome

Patna, Bihar: A day after the Bihar Assembly election results delivered a sweeping victory for the NDA, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) finds itself grappling with internal dissatisfaction, allegations of irregularities, and growing unrest within the party ranks.

The RJD led by Tejashwi Yadav suffered a major setback as its tally collapsed from 75 seats to just 25 marking one of the party’s poorest performances in recent years. The mood at the RJD office in Patna remained sombre throughout the day, with senior leaders publicly acknowledging disappointment while also hinting at deeper issues behind the defeat.

Party Points to Irregularities, Calls It a ‘Game’

Several RJD leaders raised concerns about what they described as “Foul play” and “Collusion” between the Bihar government and central authorities during the counting process. Party spokespersons questioned the transparency of vote tabulation and accused the administration of vote manipulation in close contests.

RJD leaders also warned that if results appeared inconsistent with the “People’s mandate,” they would not hesitate to launch public protests.

Internal Blame Game Intensifies

Adding to the turmoil, senior leader Tej Pratap Yadav blamed “Internal Jaichands” a term used for traitors alleging that disloyal elements within the party sabotaged Tejashwi Yadav’s campaign. The comments indicate rising factional tensions within RJD at a time when the party is already under pressure.

There have also been reports of resignations in recent weeks from individual RJD MLAs, further signaling growing dissatisfaction inside the organisation.

RJD Issues Measured Public Response

Despite the anger within the party RJD released a humble public statement saying:

“Public service is an unceasing process. Ups and downs are inevitable. There is no sorrow in defeat and no arrogance in victory.”

The party reiterated that it remains the “Voice of the poor” and committed to continuing its fight on issues of poverty unemployment and social justice.

Analysts: Campaign Failed to Convert Promises Into Votes

Political analysts suggest that although RJD ran a promise heavy campaign focusing on Jobs, Electricity and Welfare, it did not translate into electoral gains. Some observers say the NDA’s narrative and ground level machinery outperformed RJD’s messaging.

Road Ahead

With the election defeat triggering introspection, allegations, and resignations, Tejashwi Yadav now faces the challenge of stabilizing his party, addressing internal fractures, and rebuilding momentum ahead of future political battles.
