Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has recently drawn attention for raising issues related to affordability and transparency in public services, particularly airport food pricing and property registration systems.
Chadha had earlier flagged the high cost of food items at Indian airports in Parliament, calling it unfair to ordinary travellers. Following his intervention, government backed “Udaan Yatri Cafes” were introduced at select airports, offering basic food items at subsidised rates. At Pune airport, for instance, samosas were sold for ₹20 and tea for ₹10, which drew positive reactions from passengers. Flyers and social media users publicly thanked Chadha for raising the matter, and the initiative has been widely viewed as a step toward making air travel more citizen friendly.
Separately, the Rajya Sabha MP has proposed the creation of a national blockchain based property registry to make land and property records tamper proof. Speaking on the issue, Chadha said such a system would help prevent fraud, reduce disputes and improve transparency in real estate transactions. He argued that blockchain technology could ensure that property titles are permanently recorded and cannot be altered without authorisation, which would protect buyers and investors.
Chadha has also spoken about the need for stronger regulation and investor protection in emerging sectors such as cryptocurrency. He has warned that unclear policies and heavy taxation could push innovation and investment outside India if not addressed through balanced regulation.
In recent days, Chadha also gained attention on social media after his wife, actor Parineeti Chopra, shared posts appreciating his parliamentary interventions. The posts added to public interest in his policy focused initiatives.
Political observers note that Chadha’s recent focus on consumer rights and digital governance reflects AAP’s broader narrative of governance reform and public accountability. While the government has not yet announced nationwide expansion of the Udaan Yatri Cafe model or the blockchain registry proposal, both ideas have sparked debate in policy circles.
Raghav Chadha continues to position himself as a vocal advocate for middle class concerns and technological solutions to administrative problems, using Parliament as a platform to highlight everyday issues faced by citizens.
