In connection with the recent murder of Junaid, police carried out an early morning raid on Thursday at the residences of notorious rowdy sheeter Jaffer Pahilwan and his sons as part of intensified action against rowdyism and criminal elements in the city.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of the South Zone Police, with the participation of around 60 police personnel. During the search operations, police recovered multiple illegal knives and documents linked to suspected illegal properties. Officials said the seized documents are currently under detailed verification.
FIRs Under Arms Act
Based on the recovery of illegal weapons, police are registering two separate FIRs under the Arms Act against the following accused:
- Jaffer Pahilwan, a rowdy sheeter with involvement in 40 criminal cases
- Sayeed Pahilwan, an ex-rowdy sheeter involved in five criminal cases
- Sulemaan Pahilwan, involved in one criminal case
Police confirmed that all the accused are currently absconding.
Special Teams Formed
Special police teams have been constituted and deployed to trace and apprehend the accused at the earliest. Authorities stated that sustained efforts are underway to bring them to justice.
Public Appeal
Police have appealed to the public to share any information related to the accused or their activities. Officials assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
Zero Tolerance for Rowdyism
The police reiterated that rowdyism and criminal activities will not be tolerated and warned of stringent legal action against those involved in such offences to ensure law and order in the city.
