Peddapalli, Telangana IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has stressed the importance of equipping students with modern technological skills to prepare them for the future. Speaking at a series of development programmes in Manthani town on Saturday, the Minister announced a range of initiatives aimed at integrating technology and digital learning in government schools.
Alongside District Collector Koya Sri Harsha, the Minister laid foundation stones and inaugurated several development projects across the constituency. He highlighted the government’s commitment to increasing awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) among students, stating that special programs would be implemented to introduce AI tools at the school level. In addition, teachers will receive training in AI to better educate their students in this rapidly evolving field.
Recognising the growing importance of English proficiency, Sridhar Babu said steps would be taken to improve students’ spoken English skills. He also announced plans to equip all government schools in the Manthani constituency with fully digital classrooms, leveraging CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds for infrastructure and technology upgrades.
“Children must be exposed to cutting-edge technologies like robotics and driverless cars. Our aim is to ensure that students in even the most remote areas are not left behind in the digital age,” the Minister said.
In a move to support educators, the Minister revealed that a digital staff room will be established in Manthani schools to facilitate resource sharing and ease of communication among teachers.
In a notable development for the region’s youth, Sridhar Babu also announced the establishment of a small-scale software company in Manthani town, which will provide employment to 30 local youths.
Earlier in the day, the Minister inaugurated advanced digital classrooms and a modern library developed by the SEEDS NGO at the Zilla Praja Parishad Girls’ School, constructed at a cost of ₹58 lakh. These facilities are expected to significantly enhance the learning experience for students in the area.
The event was also attended by District Library Chairman Nannaya Goud, RDO Suresh, and other local officials.
