National Lok Adalat on December 13 Massive Waivers on Pending Traffic Challans Across India

A nationwide National Lok Adalat will be held on 13 December 2025 offering vehicle owners a major opportunity to settle long pending traffic challans and minor compoundable offences at Huge Discounts Ranging from 50% to 100% depending on the state. This is the last Lok Adalat of 2025 and officials say it is expected to witness record participation.

Minor Traffic Offences Eligible for Heavy Discounts

During the Lok Adalat citizens can close pending cases related to:

  • Seat belt and helmet violations
  • Signal jumping
  • Wrong or illegal parking
  • Standard over speeding cases
  • Missing PUC certificate
  • Old e-challans pending for years

These offences can be settled on the spot with significantly reduced fines and in some states old minor challans may even get a Full Waiver.

Serious Violations Not Covered

Authorities clarified that major offences such as Drunk Driving hit and run cases Dangerous Driving and violations involving Injury or Death are not eligible for settlement under the Lok Adalat.

How to Settle Challans

Vehicle owners are advised to:

  • Check all pending e-challans in advance on the Parivahan portal or respective State Police Websites.
  • Take a Printout or Screenshot of pending challans.
  • Register for a Token/slot wherever required.

Visit the Court on 13 December

On the day of the Lok Adalat citizens must visit the designated District court or Traffic court with:

  • Registration Certificate (RC)
  • Driving licence
  • Valid ID proof
  • Copies of pending challans

A judge along with traffic officials will review each case and offer the reduced amount. Payments can be made via cash or UPI.

Permanent Closure of Cases

After the payment participants will receive an official Lok Adalat Settlement order confirming that the case is closed permanently and Cannot be Reopened. Officials note this is the most effective legal route to clear long pending penalties at minimal cost.

Biggest Chance of the Year

As the final Lok Adalat of 2025  authorities expect heavy footfall and are urging citizens with multiple or high value challans to utilise this one time Opportunity to regularise their records and avoid future legal complications.
