Tension broke out at a popular tourist location in Pune, Maharashtra, after a group of people was allegedly attacked while having iftar during the holy month of Ramadan. According to police, around 14 people were injured in the incident.
Officials said the group had gathered at the tourist spot to break their fast when a large mob reportedly confronted them, leading to a violent clash. Witnesses said the situation escalated quickly, resulting in physical assault and chaos at the site.
The Pune Police registered a case against more than 150 individuals in connection with the attack. Authorities said some suspects have been identified and efforts are underway to trace others involved in the violence.
Police teams were deployed in the area to control the situation and prevent further unrest. Officials said the injured persons received medical treatment and their condition is reported to be stable.
Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against those responsible. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
