Mangalhat Police Arrest Two Habitual Offenders

Mangalhat Police arrested two habitual offenders in connection with a chain snatching case registered as Crime No. 371/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The arrests were made on Thursday and police recovered two tolas of gold chain valued at ₹2.48 lakh from the accused.

The arrested persons have been identified as Upadi Bolenath alias U. Bholanath (42), referred to as A-1, and Mohammed Khadeer alias Khader (26), A-2.

According to police, both accused are notorious habitual offenders. A-1 is involved in 70 criminal cases, while A-2 has 66 cases registered against him across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates.

During interrogation, the accused jointly confessed to their involvement in 11 recent chain snatching cases. In addition, A-1 separately confessed to one more chain snatching incident reported in the Attapur area.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Sri G. Chandra Mohan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West Zone. The Mangalhat Police team successfully collected technical evidence and tracked down the accused, leading to their swift apprehension.

Both accused are being produced before the Honorable Court for judicial remand police said.

Meanwhile, Police Constables Lalith Kumar (31473) and Balraj (11181) were appreciated and rewarded by senior officers for their prompt action and effective detection of the case.

The arrest highlights the Mangalhat Police’s continued efforts to curb repeat offenses and ensure public safety.
