KTR Seeks Central Probe Over Alleged ‘Benami Firm’ Linked to Revanth Reddy

Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi, K. T. Rama Rao, has alleged that a ‘benami’ company linked to A. Revanth Reddy received government contracts worth nearly 2,500 crore, and has called for a central investigation into the matter.

Speaking to the media, KTR claimed that the firm in question was indirectly connected to the Telangana Chief Minister and had been awarded large infrastructure and development contracts. He demanded that central agencies conduct an independent probe to determine whether any irregularities occurred in the awarding of the projects.

KTR said transparency was essential in public spending and urged authorities to examine the alleged links between the company and individuals in positions of power. He also called for all related documents and contract details to be made public.

Responding to the allegations, leaders from the ruling Indian National Congress dismissed the claims as politically motivated. They said the accusations were part of political rivalry and insisted that government contracts were awarded through established procedures.

Officials from the state government have not announced any formal investigation so far. However, the issue has triggered a fresh political confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition in Telangana.

Political analysts say the controversy could intensify ahead of upcoming political developments in the state, with both sides likely to continue trading allegations over governance and transparency.
