KTR Challenges CM Revanth Reddy Over MLA Defections

BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has openly challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government over the recent defections of BRS MLAs. Speaking at a public meeting in Serilingampally, KTR demanded that the legislators who switched sides resign from their posts and face bypolls to prove their public support.

KTR said that if these defected MLAs truly enjoy the confidence of the people, they should have no hesitation in contesting again. “Let the voters decide if they accept your move or not,” he declared, adding that the Chief Minister should allow such a test of strength.

The BRS leader also attacked the Congress government’s performance over the last 20 months, questioning its delivery on promises and governance. He argued that fresh bypolls would serve as a direct verdict from the people on both the defected MLAs and the ruling party.

This sharp political move has added new intensity to Telangana’s political scene. With defections reshaping party lines, the call for bypolls has become a test not just of individual MLAs, but also of the Congress government’s credibility.
