In a move aimed at ensuring smooth and secure polling during the upcoming elections, Joint Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Tafseer Iqbal, IPS and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, IAS, jointly inspected several polling stations across the Jubilee Hills area on Monday.
The inspection was part of the city’s broader election preparedness initiative, focusing on Security arrangements, Accessibility, sanitation and Basic amenities for voters.
Comprehensive Inspection and Coordination
During the visit, the officials reviewed facilities such as ramps for differently abled voters, proper lighting, drinking water arrangements and emergency exit points. They also interacted with local election staff and verified the readiness of polling materials, electronic voting machines (EVMs), and security deployment plans.
“Our top priority is to ensure a Peaceful, Fair and Accessible voting experience for every citizen,” said Joint CP Tafseer Iqbal, emphasizing the importance of coordination between the police and civic authorities.
GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan directed officials to ensure that all polling premises are clean, equipped with public conveniences, and free from any obstructions. He also reviewed contingency measures for managing large voter turnouts and traffic around key polling centers in the Jubilee Hills constituency.
Security and Traffic Management
The Hyderabad City Police has already drawn up a detailed security and traffic management plan for the polling day. Additional police personnel will be deployed at sensitive booths to maintain Law and Order, while CCTV surveillance and drone monitoring are expected to enhance overall vigilance.
“Every voter should feel confident about their safety and convenience while casting their vote,” added Iqbal, reiterating the department’s zero tolerance stance toward any election related disturbances.
Public Cooperation Emphasized
Both senior officials appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and civic staff on polling day. They urged residents to avoid last minute rushes and follow polling instructions to ensure smooth conduct.
With Hyderabad’s elections approaching, the inspection underlined the joint commitment of law enforcement and civic administration to uphold the Integrity, Transparency and Efficiency of the democratic process.
