Iran has strongly reacted to a stern warning issued by the United States, rejecting Washington’s statements as provocative, irresponsible and a violation of international law. The response came after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of “Total Retaliation” against Iran in the event of any alleged threat to American leaders or interests.
In an official response, Iran dismissed the U.S. remarks as baseless and politically motivated. Iranian officials said such statements amount to an explicit threat of force against a sovereign nation and risk escalating tensions in an already volatile region.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the country has never sought confrontation but will firmly defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security if provoked. The ministry accused the United States of using aggressive rhetoric to justify pressure and interference in Iran’s internal affairs.
Tehran also conveyed its concerns to the United Nations, warning that continued threats and hostile language undermine diplomatic norms and international stability. Iranian officials urged global institutions to hold the United States accountable for what they described as dangerous and inflammatory statements.
At the same time, Iran reiterated that it does not pursue violence or assassination plots against foreign leaders, calling such accusations unfounded. Officials stressed that Iran’s focus remains on addressing internal challenges and safeguarding national interests without external interference.
The exchange of sharp rhetoric highlights rising tensions between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing political unrest in Iran and heightened regional uncertainty. Analysts warn that continued verbal escalation from both sides could further strain diplomatic channels and increase the risk of confrontation.
