Hyderabad is set to make history as it becomes home to India’s first Women’s FIFA – AIFF Football Academy, marking a major milestone for women’s football in the country. Telangana will be the first state to host such a high performance academy dedicated to nurturing young female footballers at the national level.
A Big Step for Women’s Football
The academy will provide Year round professional training World class coaching, Sports science support, Medical care, Nutrition plans, and Residential facilities. It is designed to prepare young athletes for international level competition and build a strong talent pipeline for future Indian women’s football teams.
Location & Launch
The academy will be established at the Gachibowli Sports Complex in Hyderabad, with joint collaboration between the Telangana Government, FIFA and the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The announcement was made during the Telangana Sports Conclave where officials described it as a “Game changing moment” for girls football development in India.
Who Will Train Here?

The first batch will include 60 players:
- 30 girls (Under 16)
- 30 boys (Under 14)

From each group 10 players from Telangana will be selected, ensuring opportunities for local talent.
Officials Remarks
State officials stated that this academy will give young girls access to training and support previously unavailable in India. The CM called it a “Historic achievement for Telangana,” and AIFF leaders highlighted that it marks India’s strongest step yet toward equitable development in football.
