Major Indian carriers including Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, and Air India Express have suspended or cancelled multiple international flights as safety advisories restrict overflight of Iranian and Gulf airspace.
Air India, which operates several direct and one stop services to North America and Europe, has been among the most affected due to its reliance on Middle Eastern air routes. IndiGo and Akasa Air have also cancelled select westbound flights because of operational limitations and extended flight times.

Flights connecting Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru to destinations in the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe have faced widespread disruption.
Commonly affected routes include services to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, London and Frankfurt. Many of these flights usually pass over the Middle East and now require lengthy detours over Central Asia or Europe, increasing fuel costs and flight duration.
Operational Challenges
Airlines have reported that longer rerouting results in higher fuel consumption, crew duty limitations, and aircraft availability issues. As a result, some services have been suspended temporarily while others are operating with significant delays.
