India has evacuated more than 52,000 citizens from the Gulf and West Asia region as tensions escalate in the Middle East following the conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
The evacuation operation has been coordinated by the Ministry of External Affairs (India) along with Indian embassies and airlines operating special and commercial flights.
According to officials, thousands of Indian nationals working or travelling in countries such as United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran and Israel have been safely brought back to India as security risks and airspace disruptions increased across the region.
Government updates said more than 32,000 passengers returned on regular Indian airline flights, while others were evacuated through additional charter services and special arrangements coordinated by Indian diplomatic missions.
In a separate effort, around 1,000 Indians stranded in Doha were also evacuated in recent days after flight disruptions caused by the regional crisis.
The Indian government has established 24 hour helplines and control rooms to assist citizens and their families, while embassies across the Gulf region continue to monitor the security situation closely.
Officials said evacuation efforts may continue if tensions in the Middle East worsen further, while Indian nationals in the region have been advised to remain alert and stay in contact with Indian missions for safety updates.
