The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has issued a weather alert indicating that light rain and thunderstorms may occur in parts of Telangana around March 16 after several days of dry weather across the state.
According to the latest forecast, dry conditions are expected to continue for the next few days with partly cloudy skies and daytime temperatures likely to remain around 35-37°C in Hyderabad. Weather conditions may change later due to atmospheric instability developing over the region.
The IMD said isolated areas across Telangana may receive light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph. Several districts in northern and central parts of the state could experience thunderstorm activity.
Officials have advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms, especially due to the risk of lightning and strong winds that may affect traffic and outdoor activities.
Weather experts noted that such pre-summer thunderstorms are common in March as temperatures begin rising across Telangana.
