An illegal hookah centre operating in a residential area of Vatepally was raided by Mailardevpally police, leading to the detention of 10 persons. Authorities said the establishment was functioning without valid permissions, prompting swift action.
During the raid, Mohd Tanweer (23) was identified as the person running the hookah service. All individuals present at the location were taken in for questioning, and a case has been registered. Police confirmed that further legal action is underway against those responsible.
Officials seized several items from the premises, including hookah pots, flavored tobacco, coal boxes, hookah pipes, and a mobile phone.
Police reiterated that unauthorized hookah centres are illegal and warned that strict action will be taken against violators. They also stated that regular enforcement drives will continue to curb such activities in residential areas.
