Illegal Bakery Unit Using Rotten Eggs Busted in Katedan

An illegal food manufacturing unit operating in Katedan has been busted by Mailardevpally Police, exposing the use of rotten eggs and hazardous chemicals in the preparation of bakery products. The unit was reportedly functioning under the name “Madhurai Meenakshi Food Company.”

During the raid, three individuals Afridi Ansari (22), a supervisor, Yaseen (32), a manager, and Khatreshan were apprehended for running the operation. Police said the unit was producing donut buns and cakes in highly unhygienic conditions.

Officials revealed that the accused were using spoiled eggs along with chemicals such as sodium benzoate, sorbic acid and PGPR liquid. The products were allegedly sold as genuine items, posing serious health risks, especially to children.

A large quantity of rotten eggs, chemicals, bakery items, synthetic colours and flavours, along with manufacturing machinery, was seized during the operation. A case has been registered at Mailardevpally Police Station, and further investigation is ongoing.
