The Commissioner’s Task Force (CCS), Hyderabad, in coordination with Goshamahal and Afzalgunj Police Stations, has arrested three individuals involved in the sale of counterfeit household products. The operation, carried out by the Special Crime Team of CCS Hyderabad, led to the seizure of a large quantity of fake goods, including tea powders, detergents and mosquito repellent refills.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jaya Ram (30), Kachhawa Surendera (34) and Hanuman Ram (21), all native to Rajasthan and engaged in business activities. Authorities recovered 1,340 packets of Red Label tea, 100 packets of Taj Mahal tea, 950 packets of Tide, 100 packets of Ariel, 300 packets of Wheel, 550 packets of Surf Excel, 3,600 Good Night mosquito repellent refills, 9,500 duplicate packing covers, and 75 kilograms of raw tea powder during the raid.
Investigations revealed that the accused procured low-quality raw products and counterfeit packaging from dealers in Gujarat and supplied them to retail and wholesale shops in Goshamahal, Afzalgunj, Begumbazar, and nearby areas, falsely representing them as genuine branded products.
The operation was led by Inspector D. Bikshapathi, under the supervision of ACP G. Venkateswar Reddy and the arrested individuals have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal proceedings.
Authorities have urged citizens to verify household products before purchase, checking QR codes and identification marks to avoid buying counterfeit items.
