Hyderabad Police Launch “She Eye Teams” to Detect Hidden Cameras

She Eye Teams

In a major step to strengthen women’s safety, the Hyderabad Police has introduced special “She Eye Teams” to detect and prevent the misuse of hidden cameras in private spaces across the city.

A total of seven dedicated teams have been formed and deployed across all zones under the city commissionerate. These teams will focus on identifying illegal surveillance devices in sensitive locations such as hotels, malls, hostels, hospitals, educational institutions, and commercial establishments.

The initiative was formally launched by V. C. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, who distributed advanced camera detector equipment to the teams during a program held at the old commissionerate office in Bashirbagh.

According to officials, the teams have undergone specialized training in two phases, covering the use of modern detection devices and standard operating procedures for inspections. They are now equipped to conduct surprise checks across the city to identify and eliminate hidden cameras that violate privacy.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner emphasized that unauthorized surveillance in private areas such as trial rooms and restrooms is a serious violation of women’s dignity and privacy. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against offenders, including filing criminal cases and blacklisting establishments found guilty.

Authorities have also directed business owners and institutions to take responsibility for ensuring that their premises are free from hidden cameras. Organizations have been advised to appoint a “customer safety in-charge” and conduct regular inspections using camera detection devices.

The police highlighted that the She Teams will act as a nodal agency, providing guidance and training to organizations to maintain safety standards.

Citizens, especially women, are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious devices or activities immediately by dialing emergency numbers 100 or 112, or contacting the She Teams helpline.

The initiative reflects the Hyderabad Police’s continued efforts to use technology and proactive policing to ensure a safer environment and protect women’s privacy across the city.
