Hyderabad City Police, through the Commissioner’s Task Force South Zone team in coordination with Falaknuma Police, have apprehended a man for illegally procuring and selling Mephentermine Sulphate Injections without a valid license.
The accused, Abdul Gaffar Khan (30), a resident of Jahanuma, Falaknuma and employed in construction work, was found selling the injections at higher prices to customers seeking them for muscle building. Police seized 20 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections and one cell phone, with a total estimated value of ₹24,000.
Investigation revealed that Abdul Gaffar was sourcing the injections from Ahmed Naadhi, resident of Barkas, who is currently absconding. The accused sold the injections illegally to customers without prescriptions, even though Mephentermine Sulphate is a Schedule H drug and should only be sold under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner. Authorities have warned that the drug can cause serious health issues, including cardiac arrest and high blood pressure, if used without medical guidance.
Following the seizure, Abdul Gaffar was handed over to the SHO of Falaknuma Police Station, and a case has been registered under Cr. No. 47/2026 U/s 318(4), 278, r/w 3(5) BNS. Further investigation is ongoing to apprehend the main supplier, Ahmed Naadhi.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Sri K. Adi Reddy, Inspector, along with SIs S. Seshu, M. Mahesh, and staff of the Task Force and Falaknuma Police.
The Hyderabad Police have reiterated that they will continue strict action against illegal drug sales and activities endangering public health.
