Hyderabad Gold Theft

Police in Hyderabad’s Kanchanbagh have arrested three individuals, including the complainant’s son, in connection with a gold theft case, officials said.

The case came to light after a complaint was filed by a 56 year old resident, who reported that gold ornaments including two small necklaces, one long necklace, and two gold chains were stolen from an almirah in his house. Following this, police registered a case and launched an investigation.

During the probe, police found that the complainant’s son, Mohammed Adnaan Shareef (19), had identified the location of the gold during a family function. Investigators said he later conspired with two others to carry out the thefts. The trio allegedly committed the crime on four separate occasions and handed over the stolen ornaments for disposal.

The other accused have been identified as Mohammed Rehan Uddin (25), a businessman, and Mohammed Sameer (22), a medical salesman. All three are residents of Hyderabad.

Police apprehended the accused and recovered gold ornaments weighing around 137 grams, along with four mobile phones and a car believed to have been used in the crime.

Officials said further investigation is ongoing to trace any additional links and confirm whether the accused were involved in similar offences.

The case highlights growing concerns over thefts involving known individuals, with police urging citizens to remain cautious and secure valuables even within familiar circles.
